The dentsu Group continues to strengthen its commitment to human rights, and dentsu Japan also implements a variety of initiatives both within and beyond the organization.
Dentsu Group Human Rights Policy
Following a Group-wide assessment of human rights issues conducted in 2024, the dentsu Group significantly updated its Human Rights Policy.

Dentsu Japan Human Rights Awareness Promotion Framework (FY2024~)
At dentsu Japan, we have established the Human Rights Committee, comprised of senior management members (meets twice a year), and the Human Rights Education Council, which includes human rights representatives from dentsu Japan companies (also meets twice a year). Together, these committees provide a framework for sharing plans, activity results, and issues related to human rights awareness.
The Human Rights Office at Dentsu Corporate One serves as the secretariat, overseeing operations, planning and delivering human rights training, and handling individual human rights inquiries, including those related to creative content and expression.
Key Human Rights Awareness Initiatives at dentsu Japan
Human Rights Training
Dentsu Japan systematically conducts a range of human rights training programs. All employees across dentsu Japan companies regularly participate in tier-specific training for new hires, mid-career recruits, and newly appointed managers, as well as function-specific training for departments such as Sales and Creative.
Information Sharing on Human Rights
To ensure proper consideration of human rights in our work, dentsu Japan maintains a dedicated intranet site, “Advertising and Human Rights.” Employees have constant access to a wide range of resources, including Human Rights College, a collection of past cases related to human rights in advertising.
In addition, dentsu Japan distributes the “Human Rights News Mail” twice a month, continuously raising awareness of human rights among all employees across dentsu Japan companies.
Human Rights Slogans & Posters
Since 1988, dentsu Japan has invited all employees and their families across the company to submit Human Rights Slogans. Although called “slogans,” these short messages are written freely in an advertising-copy style, reflecting the unique creativity of dentsu Japan. Approximately 5,000 entries are submitted each year.
Based on the winning slogans, art directors at dentsu Japan create Human Rights Posters. Originally an internal awareness-raising initiative, the posters are now also borrowed by local governments and other organizations for use in human rights events nationwide.

Human Rights Art Project Posters
The Human Rights Art Project expands the human right poster initiative into an open, society-facing effort. It is a collaborative project in which art university students design poster visuals based on the Human Rights Slogans.
Launched in 2007, the project now collaborates with Joshibi University of Art and Design, Osaka University of Arts, and Kyoto University of the Arts. Students and dentsu Japan creators work together from the idea stage onward; to date, over 1,100 people have participated. During the COVID-19 pandemic, remote classes were introduced for the first time.
As a member of the dentsu Group—standing at the forefront of people-centered transformation and committed to generating positive energy in society—dentsu Japan actively raises awareness of human rights as a key social issue.

Addressing Sexual Abuse in Japan’s Entertainment Industry
In the talent and entertainment sector—closely connected to dentsu Japan’s business—serious allegations of human rights violations have been identified. We are closely monitoring corrective measures and, in line with the Dentsu Group Code of Conduct and Human Rights Policy, are strengthening due diligence with our business partners.
Given the complexity and case-specific nature of these issues, responses are handled carefully, not only within the dentsu Group, but also through collaboration across the industry and dialogue with external experts.
